Sir Thomas Wilford, speaking in the finance commission of the * League, said the New Zealand Government was alarmed at the ever-increasing -cost of the- League, and urged strongly' tho ■elimination of waste, a cessation of extravagance, and the necessity for dealing with countries which may ho years in arrears with their contributions.
Arreas of contributions total £BBO,OOO. The Norwegian, Dr. Harbro, begged the commission to drop diplomatic talk and act stonily. •
