TREK IN LAPLAND
ENGLISH SCHOOL BOYS 140 MILES COVERED (British Official Wireless.) Roc. 10 a.m. RUGBY, Sept. 12. After a month’s expedition to Lapland, including a 12 days’ compass journey northwards through the forests, a ’party of 35 English public school boys, under Surgeon Commander Levick, returned to Helsingfors.
The hoys marched 140 miles with rucksacks, which, at the start, weighed 4Glb. The boy’s carried light sleeping bags and slept in tents. They felt the cold, as the temperature frequently was below zero.
