MEMORANDA
A display of daffodils of a unique nature so far as this district is concerned, and amongst the best in the Dominion, is nmv to he seen at Mr. W. D. Cook’s home, “Eastwoodhill,” Ngatapa.. The daffodils cover some acres of wooded slopes and to many people will he reminders of scenes in the Old Country. In another column of this issue there appears an advertisement issued by the Poverty Bay Horticultural Society notifvingi the public that they are welcome to visit “Eastwoodhill.” without charge, at any time next Sunday afternoon.
A new branch of the hide and skin business, which lias long been needed in this district., lias been established by Messrs. F. E. Wilson and Sons at their Makauri factory, where they now under take tanning and leather dressing. With the large volume of raw material readily available in this territory, this firm should he able to supply local needs. They have the experience and plant to manufai tore good quality articles, and one oi their new lines will he upholstery leather as used b.v furniture manufaetiii ms 1 1 is hoped that this new enter prise will receive the interest and support irmn the local trade which the progies sive move warrants.
