BOROUGH LIGHTING
ADDITIONAL LAMPS Alterations and additions to the present borough lighting system involving a i additional annual lighting charge to tho borough of £47 in all were approved by tho Borough Council at its meeting last evening. The list of alterations and new lamps was as follows: Corner of Crawford road and deLautour road, removal of bracket lamp and replacing .with suspension light in centre of roadway (additional to present charge), annual lighting charge 15s; Maki street, one new bracket lamp, £4; corner of Butene road and Harris street, removal of bracket lamp and replacing with suspension light in centre of roadway (additional to present charge), 15s ; Beach road, at bend, vicinity of Baty street, one new bracket lamp, £4; Haiti School, near school gate, one new bracket lamp, £4; corner of Huxley and doLautour roads, one. new suspension lamp in centre of roadway, £4 15s; Daphne street and dc-Lautour road, one new bracket lamp, £4; Tukura load, top end, one bracket lamp, £4; Score road and Harris street, removal of bracket lamp to opposite side of road, ; Lyndhurst street, removal of bracket lamp to opposite side of rOad, ; Sheridan street and Stout street, removal of bracket lamp and replacing with suspension light in centre of roadway (additional to present charge), 15s ; corner of Massey road and Oswald sheet, new bracket lamp, £4; corner of James street and Winter street, new bracket lamp, £4; Valley road, one at corner of Ormond and Valley roads and one at corner of .lames street and Valley road, £8; corner of Birrell street and Chalmers road, new bracket lamp, £4; upper Fox street, vicinity of bridge, removal of light to opposite side- of road, ; corner of Russell street and Riverside road, on the river side of the road, provided the owner of Lister Hospital undertakes to pay £2 per annum towards the cost of lighting, £4_; total, £sl; less contributions by residents, £4 —£47. , Tn regard to the obstruction by trees of the light at the intersection of Graham and Iranui roads, the inspection committee recommends that the light should be removed to a position on the oppostie side of the road, and this was agreed to. On the motion of Cr. J. H. Hall, it was resolved that in future, wherever possible, all new street lights should be erected on the suspension system over the centre of the roadway.
