WATERSPOUT FOLLOWS LINER
UNUSUAL EXPERIENCE QUEBEC, July 27. The Canadian Pacific liner Duchess of Bedford reports air unusual experience on a passage to New York. While the ship was passing through Lake St. Peter, between Montreal and Quebec, during a severe thunderstorm, the water astern began to spin round, and suddenly, with great velocity, began to climb upwards. There it. formed a waterspout 500 ft. in height and (10ft. in diameter at the base, which,as a distance of about 50ft. from the port- quarter, followed the ship for about live miles at a. speed of about 17 miles an hour.
