CAPSIZE OF CAR
I OCCUPANTS ESCAPE While motoring to Auckland on Monday to obtain treatment for injuries received in a street accident on August 11, Mr. J. M. Osier, of Wairoa, received a severe shaking when the car in which he was riding capsized as a result of skidding on a corner about two miles from Tirau, on the Rotorua road. Mr. Osier’s sou, Mr. W„ Osier, who was driving, was cut about the face by tlying glass from the broken windscreen, and also suffered bruises on the body through being thrown forcibly against the steering-wheel. Tiie ear, a coupe, came to rest upside down and the top partly collapsed under the strain, pinning the two occupants inside. Mr. Osier, jiin., was able to break the glass panel at the hack of the hood, and crawled out through the opening. lie was unable, however, to open the doors, hut with the assistance of two passers-by he succeeded in tearing away the side-screens. Mr. Osier, sen., was then extricated. Jle was taken to Auckland by another motorist, having escaped with a shaking. The damaged motor car was taken to Tirau, where repairs were carried out.
