(Herald Correspondent.) A Hag five-hundred card evening was successfully organised by the members of the Women s Institute hist week, and "the library, in which the party was held, was filled with a jolly crowd of players. The winning table was that occupied by Messrs 0. Thompson. N. Boyce, F. Thompson, and J. O'Donoghue, who were recipients of prizes- presented by Mrs. Jensen. A dainty supper was served by the members. Those present included; —Air. and Airs. 11. Williams. Mr. and Airs. C. E. Nurse, Mr. and Mrs. 11. A. Jensen, Air. and Mrs. S J. Lee, Mr. and Mrs. S. Mat thews, Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Thompson : Mesdames Davis, McFarlane, and Lambert: Misses K. Larsen. E. Linton, am! \l. Mulligan; .Messrs. W. 11. Bradley. V. Tuckwell, J. Moody, J. P. [.arson. Otto. 11. Strawbridge. A. T. Allan. .1. 0 Donogliue, O. ami F. Thompson, X. Boyce, and \Y. Whnrehinga. Miss Mnirehnn Beale lias returned from an extended holiday at Auckland. Miss AI Ellis, Chvlumu. was a recent guest at “Mangaparaki,” the home of Airs. Beale.
