MOTORISTS’ LUCKY ESCAPE

Bath street railway crossing, Levin, was the scene of a miraculous escape yesterday afternoon when the southbound New Plymouth Express crashed into a car driven by Mr. J. Richards, a retired farmer. The other occupants were Mesdames W. Nye and W. Heseitine, who were engaged in a • clothes drive.
It is reported that the engine of the car stalled on the crossing. The car was thrown to one side badly damaged, but the passengers only suffered bruises and slight cuts. •
