ORDER OF FORESTERS

FORTNIGHTLY MEETING The usual meeting of Court William Gladstone, No. 6030, was held last night in the Masonic Hall, Childers road and in spite of the inclement weather there was a fine master of the brethren. Bro. J, Williamson, occupied the chief ranger’s chair, supported on the dais by P.C.R.’s Bros. Sparrow, Sells, Yaugnan, Venable*, and tiamochief ranger called for the woodwards’ report on matters appertaining to the sick. Bro. S. Bruce, senior woodward, reported upon members on the sick roll and brothers at present in the hospital. At this stage the delegates to the friendly society conference asked permission to retire as they had to attend a conference that night, ana the- chief- ranger granted permission ° Bwb. C. & "Bruce and V. Venables, to retire. P.C.R. Bro. C. Vaughan spoke on the secretary's report on the hospital agreement, and stated that it was working satisfactorily, this being eodorsed bv others. Bro W. Attwood spoke at length on the- attendance of the brethren at funerals. The chief ranger also spoke on this subject, and stated: that it was pleasing *to see the attendance ol brothers on these occasions. A general discussion' then followed in reference to transport for brethren' at funerals. It was finally decided that Bro. W. Attwood be appointed transport officer, m conjunction with the secretary. Bro. J. Williamson expressed Ins pleasure at seeing again P.C.R. Bro. Sparrow, who had had. 60 years service in the order; also Bro. Poole, who had recently joined, Bro. F. bell spoke of the visit of Bro.- R. Lowndes, Auckland, and stated that this-brother never missed an opportunity of visiting his old court. The chief ranger finally closed the court, after the usual honors to the chair. ___
