ROTORUA TOURNEY GISBpRNITES prominent 111 the early stages of the Rotorua Golf Club’s annual tournament which opened on Monday, Gisborne Payers have been prominent to date, and theie will bo a fair chance of Gisborne golfers being represented in the late rounds or the championship. Those from this district who qualified for the championship were A. B. Barns-Graham, J. S. BarnsGraham, G. M. Dodgshfin, and Bruce Jenkins; while for the Thermal Cup, which is contested among the next 32 players on the qualifying round scores, R. B. Willock, J. W. Barns-Graham, Neville Parker, and C. Wells, of Gisborne secured recognition. The veteran H. B. Lusk, whose form at Rotorua has always been good, gave a brilliant exhibition in the first of the qualifying rounds, returning a card of 68. His second round Was. less successful, however, inking 79 strokes and making his total for the two rounds 147. The consistent A. B. BarnsGraham registered an aggregate of ,153 for the qualifying round, one strbke more than M'. f). Carr, Of Rotorua, and T. Goudie of Titivangi, who were near-; est to Lusk. G. M. Dodgsllun registered 162, and Bruce Jenkins 164, while J. s. .Bathg-Ciiaiiapf ,m9ws t h «f last to qualify with a total of 166. The Thermal Cup is being competed
