HELP FOR MISSIONARY.

KING ’S AEROPLANES SENT The work being done by the Sudan Interior Mission is apparently highly appreciated by the King of Ethiopia. In June of this year Miss Win Robertson, a daughter of Mr. James Rohertson, of Auckland, who is a member of the mission, .was lying seriously ill m a remote village, and the King sent his private aeroplane to bring her bock to the mission headquarters .at Addis Ababa, the capital of tfie kingdom. As one of a party of missionaries, Miss Robertson set out to walk from Addis Ababa to other stations m the south. After a few days on the route she developed rheumatic fever and hod to be carried on a litter to Kambetta, where the only accommodation available was a small mud nut with ope very small window. She received skilled attention there from the medical and nursing members of the party. There was, however, no means of getting her back to headquarters at Addis Ababa and she was 7o)’ced to remain lor 11 weeks. Tile problem was solved by the kindness of the King of Ethiopia, who offered the use of one of his Specia llybiiilt aeroplanes. The excitement in the little, settlement when the news was brought that the aeroplane was coming was described by Miss Robertson in a .letter to her. parents. No such machines had been to Kambetta before and a landing placo had to be found an,d.prepared. Although recovering from her illness, tho attack hurl left her heart weak and Miss Robertson had been compelled to take a rest of six months from her work. She is comfortably housed at the mission headquarters.
