“Businesss in England was a great I deal better than I had expected to iifind it,” Mr. L. 0. Rossiter, general manager in New Zealand for W. and T. Avery, Ltd., told a Christchurch reporter. Mr. Rossiter recently returned from a three months’ trip to England. I “In Birmingham, the centre of the light ' engineering industry, they seem to be .doing quite well,” lie remarked. “Of course, the motor industry is helping a great deal-one motor factory is working on, three shifts. In our factories —and I believe this is true of most of the tradas in Birmingham—the depression seems to have been met very well. Most of tho factories are working either on full time or on very limited short time,”
