There was a. good attendance at the euchre party and dance held in the Puha, Hall last Thursday evening by the Puha Football Club, this being the last night of their series. Music was supplied by the Rangatira orchestra, and the duties of M.C. were capably carried out by Mr. A. Malone. A dainty home-made supper was served by the ladies of the district, the tables being artistically decorated with Iceland poppies and greenery. A Monte Carlo wait/, was won by Miss Spencer and Mr. Potaka. Prize-winners in the euchre tournament were :—Ladies : Mrs. Phete Jbnes, 1; Mrs. Grcggan, 2; Mrg, UoTiim, additional prize, Gentlemen; Mr. B. Thompson, 1; Mr. Wilson, 2. Mrs. .Broughton and Mr. B. Thompson scored the highest number of points for the tournament and each received a handsome prize. The weekly meeting of the To Karaka Ranger company took the form of a social evening, in honor of Miss Grace Nowing’s twenty-first birthday. Miss L. Rum, lieutenant, presented Miss New mg .with a beautiful posy of spring Powers and a gift on behalf of the company, congratulating her on attaining her majority, and the company, sang “For She’s A Jolly Good Fellow.” A happv time was spent in games, competitions and community singing. A delicious supper was served by the Rangers, the tables being artistically decorated with camellias, jonquils and greenery.
