RIVER SHOALING
(To tha Editor of tha Herald.) Sir,—Re shoaling in river: Referring to this matter, the easiest and cheapest way at the present time of depression would be to blast the intersection of the two breakwaters, the old portion and the extension of the late Mr. Langland’s. The sand; etc., from the west would go through this opening and find its way round Haiti beach, and a light bridge could be made for people to go on to the extension. lii April, 1920, I showed Mr. George Wildish, who was then a member of the Harbor Board, and he promised to bring the matter forward at the next meeting. It would have been far better to lengthen the groyne than the breakwater years ago to prevent all this trouble.— Yours, etc.. CHARLES GOWLAND.
