A letter was received by the Auckland pity Council from Mr. John Fuller, of Sydney, stating' the P. and 0. Company and the Orient Company were sending their 20,'GCO-tou liners to Lord Howe Island, the, New Hebrides, and New Guinea, and suggesting n conference of all parties interested, including the municipality' of Rotorua and the Tourist, Department, to see if it would be possible to persuade the shipping companies to send their large steamers to Auckland. It was decided to suggest to Mr. Fuller that ho should communicate with the Chamber of Commerce and the Tourist Department.
