BUSY TIME AT .WELLINGTON
There was a noticeable,increase.in the number of railway passengers carried to and from Wellington daring the Easter holidays this year compared with past years. Noticeable features of the traffic were the large number of passengers who made only short trips, trains travelling between Wellington and Palmerston North and . intermediate stations being well filled. There was heavy traffic on the Wairarapti line, on which many racegoers) were carried to and from Tauherehikau. • Traffic on the inter-island ferry steamers was fairly heavy.' Trqvel by road again proved popular, both., private and -commercial vehicles carrying large numbers, of holidaymakers. Service car companies report the, best business for about four years.
