A CHRISTCHURCH RECORD (Por Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The record total of 43 candidates lias been nominated for tho 16 seats on the City Council, representing tho Citizens, Labor, Socialist, and Communist parties. Tho sitting Mayor, Mr D. G. Sullivan. M.P., is opposed by Mr. L. O. Walker, an Independent. NEW PLYMOUTH CONTESTS (Per Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, this day. The Mayoral nominations are Mr. 11. V. S. Griffiths, the sitting Mayor; and Mr. E. R. C. Gilmouv. There are 17 nominations for eight seats on the Borough Council, five for two seats on the Harbor Board, and 10 for four seats oh the Hospital Board. MR. HISLOP UNOPPOSED (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Mr. T. C. A. Hislop nas been re-elect-ed Mayor unopposed. There are 34 nominations for 15 seats on the City Council, including one Communist. NELSON MAYOR UNOPPOSED 1 : v , 1 .‘.I(Per Pross Association.) NELSON, this day. For the second tirhe, Mr. W. J. Moffat has been returned unopposed as Mayor of Nelson.
