THE GREAT AUTUMN PRINCESS ARGOSY’S SURPRISE FRACAS ANNEXES STAKES (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, last night. The Canterbury Jockey Club’s autumn meeting ■concluded to-day. The weather was fine and the attendance good, and the course fast but hard. The tqtalisator investments amounted to £1(5,'390, against £14,584 10s on the second day last year. The total for the meeting was £43,887 lbs, against £38,735 last year. Pcerswick Highweight Handicap.— 5-5 Elude (A. E. Ellis), 1; 4-4 Tea Garden (Pascoe), 2; 3-3 Strong Light (Pope), 3. Also ran: 2-2 Rocket, 1.-1 Royal Love, (5-0 Nightguard, 7-7 Chickwheat. Elude and Tea Garden had charge turning for home, with Strong Light, Chickwhcat and Nightguard next. Elude finished host and won by a length from Tea Garden, with Strong Light half a length away. Royal Love Avas fourth. Time, 1.55 4-5. Crossing, the top, the order avus Metal Bird, Ranelagh, Argentic, Wise Choice, and Rational 11. Argentic took command Avhen the straight Avas reached and Avon by two lengths from Mount Boa, Avith Metal Bird a neck away. Ranelagh Avas fourth. Time, 1.41 1-5. Knockalong and Polydora led the field across the top and into the straight, where they Avcre followed by Chief Light, Niggerliead, Importance and Zeebrugge. In a close finish Chief Light beat Polydora by a neck, with Knockalong a similar distance aAvuy. Zeebrugge was fourth. Princess Argosy led out from the straight from Great Star, Rebel Song, Gay Crest ami Shatter. Passing the mile post, the order Avas Princess Argosy, Tout Jo Mond, Great Star, Gav Crest, Rebel Song. Shatter and Rebel Song challenged Princess Argosy in the straight, Ijut she beat Rebel Song by a length ami a half, with Shatter a neck away. Gay Crest Avas fourth. Time, 2.32 2-5. Ginverack Handicap.—2-3 Cottesmore (Wilson), 1; 3-4 Komal Pasha (Mackie), 2; 7-7 Manetho (Humphries), 3. Also ran: 4-2 Crash, 1-1 Silver Streak, 6-6 Rothen, 10-10 Heather Gloav, S-S Golden Dart, 9-9 Cranford, 12-12 Marquillo, 5-5 Lucky Drive, 11-11 Indicate, 12-13 Silk Aitoav. When the course proper Avas reached, the most prominent were Kemal Pasha, Cottesmore and Manetho, Avith Silver Streak and Crash close up. Cottesmore drew out at the distance, and Avon by two lengths from Kemal Pasha, avith Manetho a length aAvay. Heather Clow Avas fourth. Time, 1.11 4-5.

Challenge Stakes. —1 Fracas (Voitre), 1; 3 Sweet Agnes (MacKinnon), 2; 2 Might (B. H. Morris), 3. The only starters. The order at the start was Fracas, SAvect Agnes and Might, land the positions Averc maintained throughout the race, Fracas winning by a length 14 and a half from Sweet Agnes, with Might three lengths away. Time, 1.26. ... Templeton Handicap.—4-4 Martian Chief (Wilson), 1; 1-1 Hurlingham (Turner), 2; 3-3 True Shaft (Ludlow), 3. Also ran: 2-2 Cricket Bat, 5-5 Irish Lancer, 6-6 Gustavo. Gustavo went to the front at the far turn and led across the top from Cricket Bat, Hurlingham, True Shaft and Martian Chief. The order Avas the same into the straight, but Martian Chief came through on the inside and Avon by a head from Hurlingham, with True Shaft three lcgnths aAvay. Cricket Bat was fourth. Time, 1.25 4-5.
