DROUGHT CONDITIONS
GRAZIERS AT THEIR WITS’ END BRISBANE, April 10. As no rains have yet fallen in the Oharleville district to give general relief, a number of graziers are at their wits’ end to know what to do. They cannot see their way to go through the winter, and dread the approach of itlic cold weather. Several small holders have given old ewes away for grass to neighors who wore lucky to catch the late storm rains. Whilst a large number of graziers are facing the winter in a bad way, some others are quite safe, having water and grass to see them to the spring. Unfortunately there are only a few in this position, and many Hocks are showing the effects of the drought conditions. Practically all stock routes are closed.
