MURDER AND SUICIDE
PALMERSTON NORTH TRAGEDY (I’m - Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., this day. Verdicts (lint Margaret Ellen Motley was murdered by Arthur Soloy, and that Soloy committed suicide, were returned by the coroner this morning at tho in(jiiest resulting from the tragedy which occurred last Wednesday evening. The coroner added that it seemed (|hit.o dear from the evidence that the unfortunate girl was the victim of an unscrupulous man who posed as a widower and became engaged to her, though well knowing that he was not in a position to marry her. Having in the end confessed his deception, Soloy apparently brooded over tho affair and deliberately planned t.o end both their lives.
