CONCESSIONS SOUGHT BATAVIA, April 9. The Government of the Netherlands East Indies is considering the granting of a concession for the exploitation of the oil resources of North-West New Guinea to a corporation organised by the Royal Dutch Company and the Colonial Oil Company. Careful consideration is also being given to a Japanese application for a timber concession at the mouth of the Koetei river, in East Borneo. As the Japanese ask for the right to establish a harbor, the matter has been made one for the Customs and Navy and Army authorities as well as for the Forestry Department. ' A Japanese fishing concern seeks permission to establish a fishing station on the island of Sabang, as the central point for fishing in the Straits of Malacca.
