Atlautic salmon are not doing so well in the southern lakes as they might, according to Mr. N. S. S. Adamson, ot London, who is paying a fishing and shooting visit to New Zealand, lie tigs just arrived in Christchurch from the south, states the Sun, and he says the fish are not nearly so big ns they were when lie visited the di*rict two years ago. It was difficult to say why the fish did not thrive, but the feed probably had a great deal to do with it.
