GISBORNE SUCCESSES MANY FIRST PLACES GAINED Gisborne competitors were well to the fore at the Napier Competitions, which opened during the Easter holidays and which are continuing this week. This district was represented by a team of about 30, comprising mainly the leading juvenile talent of the town and district, with also several well-known adult 'performers. Many of the principal awards came to 'Gisborne, particularly in the classes for the younger people. In some classes, Gisborne filled both first and second places. , • ; .i ; i. The judge, Air 11. Temple White, remarked that this was an excellent class, one with the best average till then in the competitions.
