MINERS PROTEST
PROPOSED WAGE REDUCTION (Pol- Press Association.) HAMILTON, this day. As a protest against tho proposed 20 per cent, wage reduction at the Renown mine, all the miners in the Huntly and Glen Afton districts, except Pukemiro, refused to resume work to-day. The men were opposed to the cutting of coal prices, which they regard as beirm done with an ulterior motive., It is the intention of the men to seek Government intervention 1 to fix a fair price for coal.
