CUNARDER “534”
PERFECT CONDITION CLYDEBANK, Fob. 25. Go effective have been the steps taken by Messrs. John Brown, the builders, to prevent any deterioration in the hull of the suspended Ounarder No. 534, that although she, lias lain on tlie stocks for over a year the vessel is in a state of perfect preservation. A recent inspection revealed that the mammoth steel frame has only sunk one-sixteenth of an inch, oven at points where the. stress is most pronounced — a splendid engineering feat. About 20 men keep a constant watch over the skeleton, and at regular intervals an anti-corrosive solution has been sprayed on the four acres of steel.
