AMUSEMENTS

MAJESTIC THEATRE Boxing, wrestling and football; in fact, all forms of sport, are seen in the “Sport Parade,” a fine picture showing at the Majestic, with Joel McCrae, William Gargan, and Marian Marsh in the leading roles. The “Sport Parade” specialises in no particular sport, but utilises all as a background for a delightful romance. The wrestling bouts are quit© thrilling, and Saturday’s audience was worked up to a great pitch of excitement. The second feature, “The Eiders of Death Valley,” stars Tom Mix and the horse Tony. It is a refreshing out-door drama based on the journey into the dosert of a party of people all bent on securing a fortune in gold. To-morrow there will be a rescreen ing, by special request, of Marlene Dietrich in “Shanghai Express.” All those who missjed seeing it on its previous screening hero should avail themselves <?f the present opportunity. A soldier, a scientist, a wealthy merchant, from a dozen nations they come, enjoying lives of peaceful ease, until they board the “Shanghai Express” at Pekin for that hectic ride of rides. It is an adventure that starts a war—because of a woman •win? loves in the language of all of them. REGENT THEATRE Neither in heaven nor on earth, on land or sea, is there anything else even remotely resembling “Hor/io Feathers,” the latest farce hy those .masters of nonsense, the Pour Marx Brothers, Groucho, Jlarpo, Chico and •Zeppo. Tt is an insanely delirious ■comedy. This talkie opened on Saturday at the Regent.. “Horse {Feathers” is sheer foolery, with the (moustached Groucho talking and .punning away at a terrific rate, with Mow-thoving Chico answering : n Italian dialect and playing the piano as only he can play it. ml-wigged Jlarpo chasing his blondes, and the jalmost-normal Zeppo making love to .the heroine, u role that is played bv Thelma Todd, a college professor. His •purpose in following the paths of learning in this fashion is to got his son JSepno out of college. Zeppo, in his twelfth year as as undergraduate, is (enamoured of the shapely Thelma Todd, the “college widow.” Groucho ©tops all that by falling in love with Jber himself. The supporting programme is excellent.
