MINOR MISHAPS

CYCLISTS ANTS CABS Three minor accidents, involving collisions between cyclists and motor-cars, occurred in town on Thursday evening and last evening, but none of the mishaps was attended by serious results. At about 4 30 p.rn. on Thursday Mr. I). G. Robertson, secretary of the Gis'borne Bowling Centre, was driving out from a rank of curs outside the Gisoorns Bowling Club’s green, when a motorcycle and sidecar ridden by Mr. F. VV'. Rail collided with the ear, and capsized. Both the motor-cycle and the car were damaged, but no one was hurt. A collision between' a motor-car and a bicycle occurrred in Ballance street at 6.50 o’clock the same evening. ,Mr George Richardson, of Ballance street, was driving down Ballance street towards Wi Pere street when a bicycle ridden by Mr. R. Arundel suddenly appeared in front of the car. A 'collision could not be avoided, but although the cyclist was dazed for a few- moments after he had been knocked down, he was uninjured, apart from a few abrasions.

Two hoys. John Main, of Haldane street, and Keith Waldron, of Wellington street, who were double-banking on a bicycle, were knocked down by a car driven by Mr, \V. F. Harris, of Whatatutu. at about 4.20 p.rn. yesterday. Mr. Harris was driving along Riverside road from the direction of town, when two bicycles appeared at the Russell street intersection. The car was brought to a standstill, but the bicycle on which Main and Waldron were riding struck the bumper, and then ran down the bank. The boys were somewhat shaken by their fall down the bank, but were not seriously hurt. The other bicycle was ridden by Venton Bai. of Redmond street, who ran into the ditch to avoid a collision with the car.
