Supporting tho £46,000,000 naval programme sponsored by Mr. Vinson, chairman of tho Houso Navy Committee, Mr. Rainey, tho Speaker of the House, said the. next war would be fought with poison gas, submarines, and bombs from tho air. “We might as well fight the. next, war with modern equipment,’’ lie said. “When is the next war coming?” lie was asked. “I hope it won’t come,” he replied.
