THE BRITISH PREMIER CONFERENCE PRELIMINARY PRESIDENT’S INVITATION (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received April 6, noon) NEW YORK, April 4. Tho New York Times’ Washington correspondent states that although the State Department declined to comment on recurring rumors from London that Mr. Ramsay MacDonald w'ouJd come to tho United States, it was learned to-day that Mr. Norman Davis is carrying plans for tho assembling of an international committee representing the major foreign Powers in Washington some time in the spring to prepare for thorough discussions bv the Economic Conference.
It is understood that the plan lias Mr Roosevelt’s complete support.
Mr. Roosevelt issued a statement today expressing a hope that Air. MacDonald would be able to visit him here to confer on world economic and arms questions.
INVITATION ACCEPTED
VISIT DURING EASTER (Received April 6, noon.) LONDON, April 5. If has been provisionally arranged that Mr. MacDonald will pay a brief visit to Air. Roosevelt in Washington at Easter to discuss the World Economic Conference and probably also exchange preliminary views on war debts.
