Born in Kentish Town in 1852, thy late Arthur Roberts was at one time ;a-bapket’.s ; Qlerk f > but in 1878 first appeared on the stage at the old Oxford Music HaR. Thereafter his career was gas^uml, and he became one,of the.most ipular figures on the English stage, e did.; not;, marry until 1922,’ when 70 years of age.
