NEW UNIONS APPROVED
FREEZING WORKS DISPUTE
(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last, night
Tito registration of the new unions which have been in the course of formation at .Southdown and Westfield freezing works, has now been approved by the registrar of industrial unions, according to advice received from Wellington. It ,is understood that the new unions will commence to function almost at once. About a month ago the first, steps were taken for the formation of the union, its members comprising employees .who were engaged by the companies after slaughtering and. other workers had refused to accept the new terms of employment put into force on October 10.
Advice was received by the Ilorotiu men that their application for registration of their proposed union would lie granted when certain small formalities had been complied with.
