BOUGHT BY BORTHWICK’S
SYDNEY, Nov. 28.
With the object of extending buying operations to Northern Queensland, Tlios. Bortliwick and Sons (Australasia). Limited, frozen meat buyers, have purchased the Bowen meat works. The price is not disclosed.
Thos. Bortliwick and Rons (Australasia.), Limited, have a rabbit chilling works at Wondoiiga, completed in 1929. The company Ims boon prominent for many years in securing British Army meat contracts. In F'hruarv 1932 it secured the bulk of the War Office half-yearly contract of 6000 tons of frozen beef for the Home command. In September, 1931, it was announced that the company had mircdutsed the Farmers’ Freezing Company, at Feilding, New Zealand.
