As all the leading swimmers in the district will be competing, tlys event should prove a keen contest, and it is expected that a large number of spectators will be present.

Application for recognition of W. J. J.arvis’ performance of swimming 50 yards in 25 l-ssec., as a Now Zealand record has been granted by the New Zealand Swimming Council. 'Jarvis, who is not yet 16, belongs to Dunedin. j
