SERIES OF BURGLARIES
three men for sentence (Per Press Association.) PALMERS'PON N., this day. As a sequel to numerous robberies in Palmerston North in recent weeks, three young men, Stanley Rctlaw Gallichan, 22, a carpenter, Malcolm Victor Smith, 24, a shop assistant, and Jack Gallichan, 24, a laborer, appeared in the Magisirate’s Court. All three faced six | charges covering breaking and entering and theft, and breaking and entering with intent, the total amount goods | and cash stolen being £165. {Stanley ! Gallichan and Smith were charged on | six counts with similar offences involvi ing £55. The Gallichan brothers were j also charged with one offence of break- ) iug and entering and theft of goods valued at £7. j All the accused pleaded guilty and . were committed to the Wellington Supreme Court for sentence, bail being allowed, though it( was an unusual ! course, said the justices, on account of the accuseds’ youth.
