The Milford track has been opened for the 1932-33 season. It is reported to he in excellent order, and a heavy tourist season is anticipated.
During a. discussion of New Zealand’s trade prospects in Fiji, before the Auckhmd Manufacturers’ Association, Mr. L. D. Miller, who recently returned from the Islands, commented on the excellent stocks in shops in some of the smaller towns. Mr. Miller stated that, outside Suva, a visitor would be surprised by the variety and quantity of goods offering in almost out-of-the-way places.
Interesting experiments are to be, carried out early next year by the superintendent of borough reserves in Napier, Air. 0. W. Corner, in an effort to discover suitable grasses for the Napier Aero Club’s grounds. These experiments have been rendered necessary by the salty nature of the ground on the aerodrome, and the consequent difficulty of making grass grow on the area.
