A feature of the Australian wheat export season next year is the choice o. the oldest and latest types of marine 'transport to carry the harvest to overseas markets. Already 17 of the fastest motor vessels have received charters to load grain in Australian ports, and many of these modern vessels will be loading side by side with some of the ,19 sailing .ships catering for the South Australian harvest. _H is hoped that with the fast motor ships several trips pi ay. lie made during the season, and this has been largely responsible for the chartering of this type of vessel. Charterers of sailing ships, on the other hand, have tho advantage of low chartering rates to counteract the disabilities of slow transport. Among the latest charters is the Toltea, one of three vessels belonging originally to a -Chilian -.shipping company, and now transferred to British interests.
