FIGHT AGAINST CANCER
According, to a. report just, made to the American College of Surgeons on the progress of the fight against cancer there are now on record 8500“ fiveyear cures'’ in the United States and Canada, that is to say, cases of authenticated’ cancer which have been treated by one method or another and have shown no recurrence of the disease within five years after the completion of the treatment. If.all cases of cancer could bo diagnosed early and treated promptly the annual death-rate from iho disease, now 150,000 in Canada and the United States, would be reduced by at least .one-third, or 50,000,” in the opinion Of one expert,
