‘ 1 NEXT GOVERNOR-GENERAL’ ’ MELBOURNE. Dec. 1. Among- the proposals for discussion at 1 lie annua! conference of; the Victorian Labor Party, to be held at Hie end of January, is one by the Billposters’ Union that the conference urge upon the Federal Government that, the Prince of Wales be appointed the next Governor-General of Australia. The union pointed out that the Prince urns a bone, fide unionist, as he was and had been since 1925 a lift? member of the Billposters’ Union. The secretary of the union, Mr J. Cochrane, explained that when elected, tlm Prince, through his private secretary, had thanked the union for having elected him a life member, and every year about this time he sent a letter to the union conveying the compliments of the season.
