RAND POSSIBILITIES A BIG DRILLING PROGRAMME JOHANNESBURG, Oct. 23. It is reliably stated that immediately after the New Consolidated Gold Fields prospecting company had been formed a big drilling programme will be begun to test the newly discovered westward extension, of the main reef. All the Band mining and financial houses are taking part in the flotation of the company, and no' shares will be offered to the public. There is reason to believe that geologists' and consulting engineers of the Band who have studied the reports of the Gold Fields Company’s geologists very carefully are of the opinion that, though tlie venture may he regarded as a big speculation, there are possibilities of extremely important developments fn tlie not very distant future. Some of these experts sav they anticipate that the gold values to bo disclosed by drilling will lie .similar to those of the prospecting properties on the Far East Rami.
