AMERICAN TOURISTS
INCREASE PREDICTED DOMINION’S ATTRACTIONS A marked increase in tile number of American tourists visiting New Zealand can be expected to accompany an improvement in economic conditions, according! to Mr. H. E. Pippin, a passenger traffic manager for the Matson Line in Australia and New Zealand, who left for Sydney by tbe Monterey after a short business visit to the Dominion. “I have spent the greater part of my life among tourists,” said Mr. l’ijmin. “The tourist ‘drift to tbe Pacific started before the world staggered under the blow uf the trade depression. It "as checked then, but. it was not stopped. As soon as tlie barrier of tienressinn breaks a stream of tourists will inevitably flow to tbe South Seas. “New Zealand definitely lias attractions to offer American tourists. I have inspected tbe country from tbe tourist au"le. and every visitor to tbe country bolds tbe same view. Those conducting tbe tourist business in tbe United States are convinced of New Zealand’s future from a tourist viewpoint, and they are not let tine tip in tbe least, in their effort,s to have t lie scenic beauties, and manifold attractions of the Dominion brought borne to American people.
