The clanger of throwing loose paper about the roads was demonstrated yesterday morning when there occurred an accident which might have been attended with more serious results. Two Maori lads, double-banked on a horse, were proceeding to the I’alutahi School from Waitui, whim, on rounding a bend in the road at Ttepongaere, the horse took fright at a piece of paper blowing along m the wind, breaking the girth, and luu'cating its riders, who were thrown heavily on to the roadway.
