MEAT FOR UNEMPLOYED
SUPPLIES EXHAUSTED (Parliamentary Reporter.; WELLINGTON, this day. According to information received from an authoritative quarter, practit- / ally all stocks of meat for unemployed in New Zealand have been exhausted, and , it is not the intention of the Unemployment Board to purchase further sup- , plies in the meantime. In an urgent question in the House, Mr. J. A. Nash (Coal., Palmerston) drew attention to a circular which, he said, ] had been issued by the board advising j hospital boards that meat supplies would cease as from tho end of December. e asked what action the Government proposed to take in regard to further sup- ’ t,iies for the new year. P “Stocks of meat in Palmerston North have - ifcjeen almost exhausted, and it is not-fcded at present to supplement Hem,” replied the Hon. A. Hamilton, acting-Minister of Unemployment. The question of purchasing further supplies will be considered by the Unemployment Board when the coming killing season starts." ,-
