‘WAR VERY MUCH HEARER’
JAPAN FORCES THE ISSUE LONDON, Oct. .12. Mr. H. B. Lees-Smith, former Posl-.nui.ster-Genenil, speaking last night at Finchley, said tligt within the last. 12 months wav had come very .much nearer. It had always been felt that some time tho bluff, of the League ol: , Nations, would be, called, and.now. they were face to face with Japan. If at the end of the next six months ['Japan was, as successful in defying the 'League as she, had been for the last six months, what right had we to ask any nation to reduce any of its armaments 'on account of the protection the League would give in their place? Xt.was, perhaps, the, beginning rof the end.
