HUGE SUMS SPENT WASHINGTON, Nov. 1. The Democratic National Committee has collected £213,000 since June 1, in its attempt to elect Mr Franklin D. Roosevelt to the Presidency. Last woek the Republican National Committee, reported it had collected £287,000 for virtually the same period. The Democratic report, filed yesterday with Mr South, Trimble, clerk of the House, listed a wide range of persons, including sportsmen, business leaders and politicians, as contributors. Expenses of the Democrats between June 1 and October 22, the report revealed, were £185,000. The cost of Mr Roosevelt’s campaign swings into the west and south has not been computed, biii.it was estimated at more than £60,000.
