’QUAKES IN ASSAM
HILL BECOMES ACTIVE EXPERTS NOT ALARMED (Eloc. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received Doc. 6, 11 n.m.) CALCUTTA, Dec. 5. A long series of earth tremors which have been disturbing Assam shows no signs of abatement. Dhubri, which appears to be the centre of the- disturbance, is continuing to register one shock a day, while it is reported that a hill in Gardraug, Assam, has become active and that smoke is issuing from its crest.
Experts do not anticipate danger, believing that although Assam is on a volcanic chain there is no cause for alarm.
