Accompanied by members of tlie Hawke’s Bay Education Board resident in Cislymie, and also by the chairman of the lipafd, Mr, Gi jMaddisbn, the'Director of Education made a tour of three town and suburban schools this morning, with a view to inspecting any remaining evidences of ’quake damage and also estimating the accommodational needs of the, respective schools. .The visit of the difeetpr, Mr. T. B. Strong, is plainly with a view to considering whether the establishment of an intermediate school in Poverty Bay would be justified by the numbers of pupils in the upper classes, or forms as they have been culled in recent years. This afternoon the party was to inspect To Hapara and Awajmui primary schools, and also the High School, and this evening will be devoted to a conference with the I-Jigh School hoard of governors and the menibers, of committees, on flip subject of the intenpedfate schooh
