Blouses For The Summer
CKIRTS and pinafore frocks, both very fashionable this summer, throw emphasis on the blouse as an important adjunct to the smart ensemble. While ' the popular pinafore frock offers many economies, and may be the means of wearing out the blouses which began their careers as part of the winter wardrobe, the equally popular separate skirt demands new blouses which reflect the latest of fashion’s whims. For tho blouse and skirt fashion is not only for informal morning wear, but may form the smartest toilettes, when expressed in crepos or other heavy silks. For morning and sports wear, gay bandanna prints ate used for attractive littlo blouses, w-hich have short sleeves and are short-waisted, in accordance with the latest silhouette. The very newest fashion is to wear with a plain white linen or cotton skirt, a brightly patterned blouse of cotton. Spots and stripes in cambrics, lawns, haircords, and piques may be used for theso blouses, many of which have sash ends coming from the sides, to tie at the back. Others button neatly at the waist, in a jacket effect, a style particularly suitable to the new striped cottons. These blouses are worn over the skirt, but tuck-in blouses are equally fashionable, when worn with a skirt that has a neat belt of the self material to mark the waistline. Tho printed blouse may be as gay as the wearer pleases, when accompanied by a white skirt, white shoos and hat, but if the skirt is a colored one, the blouse should repeat the color of the skirt in its design or its ground color. Many of the most successful summer toilettes for formal wear consist of blouses and skirts, their carefully chosen accessories giving the finishing touch of elegance.
