RENTALS OP SUBSCRIBERS Recently the Mnuugakaramea branch (near Whnngarei) of the Farmers’ Union made representations to the Post and Telegraph Department urging the suspension of the telephone regulation which provides that where the number of subscribers to a party line is reduced by relinquishments the rentals of the remaining subscribers are proportionately increased. The Postmaster-General has forwarded the following reply to the secretary of the . Maungaltaramea branch: “I beg to inform you that, as a temporary measure of relief during the present economic conditions, the rentals of remaining subscribers on party linos connected with the smaller.exchanges are not being increased when relinquishments take place. ’J » - ,
