THE ANNUAL REPORT YEAR SHOWS SMALL DEFICIT ECONOMIES TOTAL £lßl In view of the difficult circumstances under which all forms of sport have been carried on during the past year, the Poverty Bay Golf Club s executive probably feels satisfied in being able to present a balance sheet in which a deficit of only £l4 14s 6d is shown. The income of the club dropped £139, compared with the previous year, the major loss being through decreased membership subscriptions. On tho other hand, the committee effected economies in all forms of expenditure, and showed a total reduction, as compared with 1931* 32, of £lßl. T.lio total expenditure for the year was £1179, wages consuming £482, maintenance £B2, rent £357, and general expenses £2B, among other major items. The membership income for the year was £IOO4, green fees realised £66, the profit from the annual ball yielded £54, and small profits were also realised from the Easter tournament and tiieopen championship tournament conducted by the club. There was a substantial excess of assets over liabilities, at the close of the year, the main items under the heading of assets being debentures in Poverty Bay Golf Links, Limited, £205; tools, plant and furniture, £6B; triplex mower investment account, £120; improvements to links account, £1035; and shares in Poverty Bay Golf Links, Limited, £1470. The total assets are shown in the balance sheet at £2993 17s 9d. Against these arc set a reserve for native rent, £SO; sundry creditors, £9 11s; subscriptions paid in advance for summer play, £9 Is 6d; and the capital account, which fitter making

Bar ns-Ora ha in’s private co.urse at Haugaroa. Appreciation of the services rendered liv the club’s professional, J. Mowat, and by the greenkeepers is recorded in a paragraph of the report, and members are given a reminder that all officers of the club retire at the general meeting, and that nominations for, the respective positions thus vacated must be lodged at least seven days prior to the date of the meeting.
