SAWMILLS AWARD
TARANAKI AGREEMENT (Per Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, last night. A settlement was reached in the sawmills and tiinboryimls y dispute in the Conciliation Council but the new award covers only mills in Taranaki towns, the country being deleted from the award. A reduction in wages of about 10 per cent, is involved, and the overtime rate is reduced from time and a-lialf for the first four hours and double after that, to time and aipuirter and time and a half.
